Schubert Trios

Chamber music embraces the intimacy and inwardness of Romanticism. One of its greatest pioneers was the Viennese composer Franz Schubert, who elevated the direct expression of emotions to new heights. To achieve this, he employed significant stylistic innovations. The cultivation of ambiguity and abrupt changes of instability coexist with nostalgic Romantic lyricism. This recital presents two trios by the composer, works deeply imbued with the new sounds that ushered in instrumental Romanticism.
