OPERA Isto is a company dedicated to creating operatic shows for all audiences.

It was founded by José Lourenço and Mário João Alves and debuted on 11.11.11, with O Que é uma Aria?, a creation presented at Casa da Música, in Porto, as part of its Educational Service programming.

Since then he has successively created Via Verdi, Alibabá e as 40 canções, To be or not to Britten, A Rolha da Garrafa do Rei d’Aonde?, A Flauta Mágica Vista da Lua, Pica-Pau Amarelo, O Olho Esquerdo de Júlio Verne, Serena Serenata, O Barbeiro de Einstein and Eça é que é Eça.

OPERA Isto has been presented in different contexts and venues such as Casa da Música – with whose educational service it maintains regular collaboration – Teatro das Figuras (Faro), Casa das Artes de Famalicão, Teatro Nacional de São Carlos, Auditório de Gondomar, Academia de Música de Espinho, and others, seeking to permanently promote the circulation of their creations, as well as holding creative and performative workshops and projects with communities, as is the case of Ó da Guarda, held in Bairro da Guarda (Perafita, Matosinhos) under the Bairros Saudáveis program, in 2022.​

In January 2025, their new creation premiered at Casa da Música: Como anoitecer um pirilampo, segundo o Dr. Qwrtzfgtlvskh.
