Named after the famous painting by Giorgone, Concerto Campestre is a chamber music group dedicated to the interpretation of European music, from the Renaissance to classicism, known as “early music”.
The group is based in Lisbon and is directed by Pedro Castro. Its composition is versatile, and it has performed everything from programs with a chamber trio to orchestral productions with choir and soloists. It has performed at Festa da Música no CCB, Encontros de Música Antiga de Loulé, in the atrium of the Gulbenkian Museum, "Festa no Chiado", "Festas de Lisboa" and at the Tomar Early Music Encounters, Festival Terras sem Sombra and Festivais de Outono in Aveiro, Festival Internacional de Música de Badajoz, Noites de Queluz - Tempestade e Galanterie, Temporada Música em São Roque and Festival Fora do Lugar.
In collaboration with the Arabesque Quartet, the group presented the modern premiere of João de Sousa Carvalho's Serenade “L'Angelica”, with seven performances all over the country between October 2009 and June 2010, the recording of which was released in 2016 by Editora Naxos.
